
This research brief is a sequel to the Western European mobile spectrum auctions and LTE developments brief published in January 2012. This brief provides an overview of the auctions held since then as well as upcoming spectrum auctions focusing on 800 MHz and 2600 MHz spectrum. It also includes regulatory decisions to open other frequencies, mostly 1800 MHz for LTE use.

Auction were held in Denmark and Switzerland, auctions will be held in the Netherlands and the UK before the end of 2012 and Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway are still consulting about the auction process. The remaining countries already held their 800/2600 MHz auctions with some countries opening up other frequencies for LTE as well.
